Ecorenovations involve choices that reduce our overall ecological
impact, or footprint.
Ecorenovations may involve a renovation
that carefully selects materials, methods and equipment that
are environmentally preferable. An ecorenovation may involve
a small change to a home or building that improves the functionality
of the space, such as built-in shelves, cupboards or a niche.
Sometimes the best
ecorenovation for our clients involve a choice to not renovate
at all. Rather, we might suggest to lessen our clients' ecological
impact in another way, say by growing their own food, carpooling,
conservation or consuming less.
Joshua Four looks at net ecological impact to identify our client's
priorities when they ecorenovate, and not simply on fashionable "green" materials
and methods. This, coupled with great design and skilled crafstmanship,
is the start to a successful ecorenovation.
